Article: Why is there a Take Notes button on some steps?

If the Take Notes button is displayed in the main content window of a lab this means that taking notes is a prerequisite to completing that step in the lab. In most cases, you must complete all prerequisites to move on to the next step. If there is no Take Notes button in a step, this means you’ve either already taken the prerequisite note or taking a note is not a prerequisite to complete the step. If there isn’t a Take Notes button you can still take a note by opening the “Notes, Timeline, and Report” tray and clicking New Note.
